Making Books Less Boring

https://limcheekin.github.io/talking-book/

You know how sometimes awesome stuff in books feels stuck in there, behind all those words? And you just wish you could ask the book directly instead of digging forever? Yeah, you’re not the only one. It can be hard to make book ideas actually stick and feel… well, real.

For me, this feeling hit even closer to home. As a huge book lover myself, I also have a personal reason for wanting to unlock all that wisdom. My 9-year-old son has dyslexia, and I really wanted him to have a way to connect with books when he grows up later. I thought, what if he could listen to the main ideas first? That way, when he does get to the reading part, it might feel less overwhelming. That’s really where the idea for Talking Book started.

What if books could actually talk back? What if their main points turned into songs you can’t get out of your head? That’s the big idea behind this — building a whole system to help you connect with books in a totally new way.

It all kicked off earlier this year with our YouTube channel, “Bookcast AI Podcast,” where we did summaries that felt more like podcasts. But you guys got really into it, and we wanted to do more. So, things grew, and we realized we needed a name that fit everything better.

So, today is the big day! We’re officially launching Talking Book! We’re bringing together our cool videos with a totally new way to chat with books using AI. And guess what? We want you to help us decide what we do next.

Why are we doing this? Simple: Make books less boring. Seriously, there’s so much amazing stuff inside them, and we think everyone should be able to get at it easily, enjoy it, and actually remember it.

Maybe you’re super busy and don’t have much time. Maybe you’re a student trying to remember things for class. Maybe you just learn better in different ways. Or maybe you’re just curious! Talking Book is here to make exploring books fun and easy, not a chore. We want reading to be something you do, not just something you let happen to you. We want it to stick.

Okay, So How Does Talking Book Actually Work? (Right Now!)

Our journey started with those chatty summaries on the “Bookcast AI Podcast” YouTube channel. Since then, we’ve added a few different ways to check out book ideas, built for different vibes and learning styles:

  1. Quick Bites (Just the Basics): Need the main points fast? Our Book Overviews are usually 3–8 minutes long and just hit the core ideas. You get the gist without spending a ton of time.
But hey, maybe you want more detail? We’re thinking about making these around 15 minutes. Imagine a richer, more complete overview… would you be into that?
  2. Chapter Unpacked (Digging Deeper): Ready to go chapter by chapter? Our Chapter Deep Dives (also around 3–8 mins right now) break down what’s inside each section. It lets you really explore the little details.
Could a ~15-minute deep dive per chapter really help you get it down? Let us know if that sounds good to you!
  3. Learning Through Lyrics (Sing It!): This one’s totally different! We turn key ideas into catchy, 1-minute Songs. The idea is, “Can’t remember it? Just sing it!” It sounds fun, and honestly, it works for getting ideas to stick in your head!
People are loving these! Should we turn them into longer songs, maybe 3–5 minutes with more verses and hooks? Would you actually listen to those?

Seriously, your ideas here directly help us figure out what to make next! We’ll tell you how to share your thoughts below.

🚀 HUGE NEWS: You Can Now Chat Directly With Your Books! Meet the “Talking Book” AI Chatbot

Okay, picture this: You just finished a chapter, and a question pops into your head. Instead of heading to Google or flipping back through pages forever, you just… ask the book itself. Well, now you can.

Chat with the book by scan the QR code on the left or go to https://t.me/think_and_grow_rich_bot

Say hello to the Talking Book AI Telegram Bot — think of it as your personal book buddy powered by AI!

How’s it work? It’s super easy. You just type or even send a voice message to the bot on Telegram, and it gives you answers right away, pulled straight from the book you’re checking out.

You could ask things like:

  • “What were the main points about X in Chapter 3?”
  • “Can you quickly tell me the steps for Y the book talks about?”
  • “Explain that Z thing in simpler words, please.”

Get instant answers, explore ideas back and forth, figure out confusing parts, and really make learning your own. It’s like having a super smart guide built right into every book you explore with us.

Note: The AI chatbot is using the Gemini API free-tier. You will likely see the following message until the issue is resolved.

Why “Talking Book”? It’s More Than Just a New Name

You might have known us as “Bookcast AI Podcast.” But today, we’re calling ourselves Talking Book. Why the change? Because it just fits everything we’re doing and want to do way better:

  • It nods to how we started with summaries that felt like talking ("Talking").
  • It totally fits the new interactive AI chat — the bot literally talks back!
  • It covers the unique Songs that make ideas “speak” to you through music.
  • It represents the whole system we’re building to help books communicate better.
  • It shows our bigger picture for how we see you interacting with knowledge in the future.

“Talking Book” isn’t just a name. It’s our promise to keep finding cool, new ways to make books speak to you.
